[new promo mix] Autumn Sun at Sandy Street - September 2008
It's that time again!
Technically, it is still the September Promo Mix, but given the fact that my last one was in first week of August, and this one now in the last week of September, almost makes it two months ago...
And then I thought - shall I change the rhythm of the mixes? Not the beat, that will still be PuLSating ;), but the frequency of them coming, I mean :). Is it going to be the mix that you ENJOY during the month (giving all the best songs from the months before in the flow), or shall it be the best songs RELEASED during the month? I guess it's a matter of taste and what works for me - and you. Share your opinion!
Anyways, the past month still grasps the spirit of the mix, or I mean the other way around :). The mix grasps the spirit of the month passed! And especially the tranquility of yesterday, when we sat on the backyard, my partner, her mother and step-father, and drinking coffee in the late September Sun shining on us. A backyard just newly renovated looking like some kind of strange Sims land and a bit of "japanese" scarcity and white gravel. There, at the BBQ fixed place, we were breathing in and breathing out, and concluded that we now have landed firmly in our new apartment here in Norrköping. The last part of change of arrangement was to turn my workspace and desk the other way around, now seeing the blue sky and the kids playing at the other side of the street where there is a kindergarten. From where, this is written - my Creator Room, or my 'ki-studio'!
It was right about one month ago we moved here, to Sandgatan in Norrköping, Sweden (see my partner's interior design blog, of this 3,5m to the ceiling and 108 square meeters, leaving some 380 cubic meters of space for our desires and creating!). Thus, the name!
Sandy Street = Sandgatan in Swedish!
The month was having a crescendo with the new Enigma 'Seven Lives - Many Faces' album, so this time it went into some kind of past/future tension, adding the 'Turn Around' regular intro, with the intro from the new album, 'Encounters'. As usual, some progressive and melodic meditative beats the first hour, including a remake 'Classic of the Month', Robert Miles with Children, in Inpetto's 2008 treatment. Then, building energy for some speedy energetic trance, cascading into the techy beats in the end, and saluted with Tune of the Month! Armin van Buuren feat Sharon del Al - In and Out of Love (The Blizzard Remix).
Armin is still #1 for me, both as a producer, a dj, and especially a radio show host. Here, together with the warmth of the Norwegian Blizzard Team from FAAAR up North! Impressive that the chilly weather still cannot keep them from adding Balearic Hot-ness to the driving trancer there :).
So, here it goes - the first promo mix recorded in my new setting!
